What I Wish I was Planting right now: filling the calendar for NEXT fall

AUGUST 29, 2024

Gardeners look ahead - like FAR ahead. This fall is the first time I'll have “extra” space and I'm wishing I had more seeds started for fall bouquets.

This week's email is all about the seeds I wish I started in July + August, and the plants I plan to plant fall of 2025 to extend our bloom season :)

If you're as crazy as me, add these dates to your calendar now - your future gardener self will thank you!

PS, if you're reading this email, you get a 24 hour head start on the September 1 pre-chilled bulb sale. Mark your calendar for August 31 at 9am when all the bulbs will be live on bungalowblooms.com for email subscribers only! xo

01. Zinnias

The queen of summer bouquets, I plan to have transplants ready for next fall. I've shared my zinnia seed sowing schedule before, but now I'm adding one last sowing to have blooms through first frost

• Sow indoors: August 1

• Transplant outside: August 20

• Blooms Begin: October

• Pull: Dec/Jan depending on temps

One more note, plan for these zinnias to be fall colors, like Benary's Giant Wine and Queen Red Lime
