Coursework and Coaching begin September 1
I know from experience that a garden is more than just some soil and flowers -
it’s been a place that’s held me through life’s ups and downs - from gardening with my rainbow baby, to a devastating miscarriage and postpartum mood disorders - the garden has been my safe place through all of my highest highs and lowest lows.
Because I know how vital the garden has been to my mental and emotional health, I want as many people to have successful gardens of their own.
Even if your highs and lows don’t look like mine, I know the garden will be your safe place -
Your garden can be a place to rest, rejuvenate, and turn-off the outside world.
But here’s the thing: gardening isn’t always intuitive.
It can be time-consuming, overwhelming, and downright frustrating. That’s why I created Autumn Grow Along. So you can spend more time enjoying your flourishing garden and less time stuck in a cycle of second-guessing, endless Googling, and feeling like every mistake sets you back.
With bite-sized, seasonally timed lessons that you can immediately implement, you’ll know exactly what to do and when to do it.
No more overwhelm. No more guesswork.
It took me over five years of trial and error to figure this out, but with AGA, you’ll go from confused to confident in just six months—skipping years of frustration and failures along the way.
Here’s how it works
Everything Begins on September 1st! Only 20 Spaces left in the Cohort.

Garden Grow
Each month, your garden will thrive and your confidence will grow as you master a new skill in organic garden tending.
You’ll go from novice gardener to green-thumb in 6 joy-filled months!
Whether you’ve never had a garden or you’ve tried (and failed) to grow those “trickier” flowers, this course is for anyone dreaming of a gorgeous garden this spring.
This program has already helped over 40 beginner and novice gardeners in Houston and the South Gulf start—and succeed—in growing their own beautiful spaces.
At Bungalow Blooms, we believe garden education should be as accessible as possible for everyone - we’ve seen so-called “black thumbs” grow the most stunning flowers.
Want the lessons delivered right when you need them? Enroll in the coursework: six monthly lessons, arriving on the first of each month.
Craving even more support? We’re opening just 20 spots for a private group coaching community—where you can ask your “silly” questions (spoiler: they’re never silly), share photos of your wins and flops (because we all have them!), and get real-time feedback from Alex.
“First harvest. I definitely teared up when I cut it. What a rewarding hobby. I’m hooked!!”
Adrienne M. (2024 cohort member who didn’t even have a garden when she signed up!)

Past cohorts have gotten feedback on: plant spacing, disease treatment, pruning, harvesting videos, frost and freeze protection support, and play-by-play updates.
-
And potentially even more important, since the cohort is capped and intimate in size, we all end up cheering each other on - swooning over the bouquet you cut for your family member’s birthday, cheering together as you remove your frost cloth and find your daffodils blooming, and creating a fun place to nerd out about blooms.

More Than Just a Garden Group Chat

When I first started the cohort last year, I just wanted to create a space where new gardeners could ask the questions they were too embarrassed to post anywhere else—a safe, welcoming corner of the internet where they could share photos, videos, and get real-time feedback without judgment.
What I didn’t expect was the community that would grow from it.
These gardeners didn’t just show up to learn—they showed up for each other
A year later, the group chat is still going strong. They’ve cheered each other on, trouble-shot problems together, swapped seeds and stories, and even met up in real life at workshops and events around town.
At Bungalow Blooms, having a community this invested in learning and lifting each other up has been one of the greatest joys of the whole journey.

Ready for the garden of your dreams?
It sounds so good! But I’m worried I won’t have the time.
As a busy mom and business owner, I know we all are in a time crunch - these videos are designed to be potent, concise but filled with knowledge you’ll come back to over and over.
In less than one Netflix episode a month, your outlook on gardening can go from unsure to confident.
But Alex! What if I mess up again or don’t know what I’m doing?
You’re not a terrible gardener - you just have the wrong information! The reality is, not much information is available specific to Houston and the Gulf South, and this course sets out to remedy both - lack of information and any previous “fails”.
And let’s be honest, we all mess up sometimes! In fact, this entire course is a culmination of my years of trial and error in my own Houston cut flower garden.
In AGA, you’ll learn from the years of my own mistakes, saving you from any missteps along the way. And if (when) they do happen, you’ll learn how to troubleshoot as you go, and grow from your mistakes too! We’re all in this together.
Plus, if you want extra support, you can enroll in the exclusive Cohort where you’ll get Back Pocket Garden Coaching whenever you need it. So no need to second-guess, you can just ask me!
meet your teacher
I’m Alex of Bungalow Blooms
In 2018 we bought a tiny little bungalow with a big front yard - when my sister came to live with us, she helped me build two raised beds.
We filled them with cheap soil, rigged up a hardware store irrigation system, and planted seeds (at exactly the wrong time). That first garden gave me the world's teeniest zinnias, and ignited my drive to figure out gardening in Houston.
Since 2018, I’ve learned a lot of lessons the “hard way” - covering all my flowers with bed sheets during the first frostmas I experienced meant pretty much everything in my garden turned to mush. Planting tulip bulbs in August, meant I never had a single tulip bloom. But every “mistake” turned into an experience that made more more successful the next year.
Until 2024, I was also an elementary school teacher, with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. I know that the best teachers are the ones who leave you feeling you CAN (even without their help). Having a decade of experience taking big ideas and breaking them apart for little brains transfers perfectly to teaching beginner and frustrated gardeners to succeed.
What you don’t need is a ton of information all at once, left to fend for yourself and sort through what to do next.
What you do need are bite-sized, easily implementable lessons that you can watch, master, and use in the garden - building success on top of success until you find yourself not needing me at all.
THAT is Autumn Grow Along - it’s the fast track to garden confidence. You’ll get a gorgeous spring garden, but most importantly, you’ll get the tools and knowledge that will make you a confident gardener for your entire journey.
